Feeling HOT HOT HOT!!

We're feeling tropical at Pat a cake HQ! The weather is gorgeous in London today and looks like it will remain so all week! Such a welcome break from all the miserable rain we've been having. In the spirit of the season we'd like to share with you cute flip flop, shell and starfish wedding favour cookies from a recent beach wedding.We think unique little details like these really make a wedding special. BRIDES magazine- July/ August 2012

Recent feature in BRIDES magazine, showing you how to crystalize your own pansies for a pretty homespun cake. All the pansies on the cake that we supplied were grown organically in our garden away from nasty pesticides. We only use pasteurised egg whites so there is no danger to pregnant ladies and the elderly! Although if you buy eggs from a reputable source such as a supermarket you should be fine. Just want everyone to know how to crystalize flowers safely!
We love how pretty the cake turned out and the pansies looked so delicate with their sugar sparkle.  What do you think? Would you have a flower themed wedding?

Jade Jagger's Wedding Cake!!

You might have heard that Jade Jagger got hitched this past weekend to DJ and all around cool guy Adrain Fillary in the fabulous Cotswolds. She designed her own wedding gown, accessorized with a gorgeous golden tan and naturally beautiful tousled waves. Even more exciting news, guess who made the cake?! That's right it was us! Unfortunately for now we've only got a cheeky little snap but we couldn't wait to show you all! It pretty much sums up the mood of the day, relaxed, fun and opulent the perfect rock star wedding. Hoppy Easter!


Forgive the terrible pun! Just thought it was in keeping with this eggcellent time of year! We made these two happy easter bunnies for two different school fairs, hope the winners are pleased with their cakes. The cakes are madagascan vanilla sponge with belgian chocolate buttercream filling. There is still time for you to order your own easter cake and we have several different variations including much less wild ones for a sophisticated grown up party- so do get in touch.

Morrisons Magazine cover!

We have yet to get our hands on a hard copy but we couldn't resist showing you our almond and white chocolate easter cake on the front of this month's Morrisons magazine! with the recipe included inside. The top of the cake is decorated with fresh raspberries and twists of cystallised lemon peel a perfect addition to any easter feast!

This months Wedding Magazine features many Pat- a- cake Pat- a- cake creations which is fantastic! Just wanted to show you a couple of our favourite cakes from a really inspiring feature- Perfect palettes. So great to see that it is possible to take on a more adventurous colour palette and get gorgeous results.We can do either cake in a variety of different flavours. Our favourites this month are vanilla and raspberry cake with a belgian white chocolate buttercream and passion fruit cake with fresh passion fruit buttercream filling extremely delicious and fresh, ideal for spring!
Both cakes are inspired by the current trends on the spring/ summer 2012 catwalk, we love to dip our toe into the fashion pool! It is a constant source of new and exciting ideas and it helps to keep things exciting!
